Fernando Faria is a Senior Analyst with Pyramid Research’s Regional team. His main responsibilities are to track market trends in a number of Latin American markets and develop relationships with key industry players in the region, especially in Brazil. He is based out of the company’s headquarters in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Fernando’s work at Pyramid is focused on producing value added intelligence to Latin American clients, through quantitative modeling as well as qualitative analysis of cutting edge technology trends in the region. He is currently responsible for covering fixed, mobile and PayTV markets in Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay and has contributed to projects such as convergence, handsets and Capex forecasts, as well as a number of customized products with different objectives, spanning from operators’ financial results tracking to premium forecasting, which includes extensively detailed data analysis and modeling.
Fernando was as speaker at AHCIET’s 8th Regulation Forum in São Paulo and at the IBC/Informa Congress on IPTV & Quad Play, in Rio de Janeiro. He was also quoted by several publications such as Financial Times, El Universo (Mexico), TeleSíntese, WNews UOL, and IDG Now! Fernando also contributed with a weekly article to Frecuencia Online.
Prior to joining Pyramid Research, Fernando was a Competitive Intelligence and Research Senior Consultant at TIM Brasil for two and a half years, where he helped to build the Competitive Intelligence department and was the company’s reference for key industry analysis techniques. Before that, Fernando worked as a Marketing Specialist for a year and a half at Claro (América Móvil) in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, where he was responsible for product development and management for both business and high-user post paid segments. He also worked as Product Manager at Intelig Telecomunicações for three years, where he was responsible for product development and management, sales training, support and reporting. Before getting into the telecommunications industry, Fernando spent three years in the finance sector, when he worked for ABN Amro Real Bank.
Fernando holds an Executive MBA from IBMEC Business School, completed an Executive Development Program at Fundação Dom Cabral and majored in Marketing at the Faculdade da Cidade, Brazil. He is a native Portuguese speaker, fluent in English and Italian, and also has working knowledge of Spanish. In his spare time, Fernando enjoys reading, cycling and playing tennis.
