Kenya Intelligence Report
(March 2010)
Due to an overall decrease in economic activity, the Kenyan market grew at a slower than expected pace, generating $1.3bn in 2009, which represents a 4% increase compared with its 2008 value. In 2009, propelled by high adoption of mobile banking and SMS, the fastest growing segment of the telecom market was mobile data services. We expect that mobile data revenue will increase from an estimated of $93m in 2009 to $291m in 2014, partly due to the introduction of 3G services.

The Canadian communications market, including traditional pay-TV, generated $37.5bn in 2009, a year-over-year decrease of 1.5% that resulted from the economic downturn and decreases in the market for fixed and mobile voice services. Going forward, we expect the market to grow at a CAGR of 2.8% from year-end 2009 to year-end 2014, reaching $43.1bn in 2014.

(March 2010)
The growth in the Venezuelan telecom market will slow down in the next few years, following a period of astonishing growth in recent years that resulted from strong growth in penetration of both mobile and fixed telecom services. Pyramid Research expects the telecom market (including pay-TV) to grow at a CAGR of only 2.9% over the next five years, from $10.3bn in 2009 to $11.9bn in 2014.

Colombia Intelligence Report
(February 2010)
The Colombian telecom market generated $7.6bn in 2008, and we estimate it was worth $7.0bn in 2009, an 8% decrease mainly due to the economic recession and a negative impact of the exchange rate variation. Over the coming years, we expect a slight recovery starting in 2010. The fastest significant growth segments will be fixed VoIP, broadband Internet and mobile data.

Iran Intelligence Report
(January 2010)
The Iranian telecom market generated $9.2bn in service revenue in 2009. The market is still in a rapid-growth phase, with the data segment developing very fast in terms of number of users and amount of use. The mobile segment generated more than two-thirds of the total revenue in 2009, but the next five years will see the previously sluggish fixed sector begin to transform, following the introduction of new fixed technologies, a limited amount of competition and the legalization of VoIP.

Argentina Intelligence Report
(January 2010)
Pyramid Research expects the Argentinean telecom market to grow at a CAGR of 4.5% in US dollar terms between 2009 and 2014. The most significant segment will be mobile data, for which revenue will double over the next five years. Increased penetration will let operators deliver more services over the 3G networks, with services such as mobile Internet, music and video expected to grow quickly

Israel Intelligence Report
(December 2009)
The Israeli communications market is expected to generate almost $6.4bn in service revenue in 2009 and roughly $6.9bn in 2014. Mobile revenue dominates the market — in 2009 accounting for 61% of total revenue. Due to increasing disconnections of circuit-switched lines, the mobile sector will continue to outperform the fixed throughout the forecast period.

Vietnam Country Outlook
(December 2009)
The Vietnamese telecom market is a fast-growing market that experienced 20% year-on-year revenue growth to generate $4.8bn in service revenue in 2009. Major drivers were increased mobile adoption driven by rising levels of competition and mobile data, which is about to get another boost from 3G services. While mobile operators are busy constructing 3G networks, fixed operators are also expanding their networks to accommodate the growing demand for broadband Internet services.
