Puerto Rico: Regional LTE Pioneer Preps for More LTE Launches in 2012

Price: $990.00

Download Excerpt

The Puerto Rican telecom market generated $2.22bn in service revenue in 2010, and we anticipate it will close 2011 at $2.23bn, up 2.1% year-over-year. As we move forward, we expect the overall market to grow at a 3.2% CAGR between 2011 and 2016, reaching a total revenue of $2.6bn. Over the same period, we believe VoIP (19.9% CAGR) and mobile data (17.6% CAGR) will be the fastest-growing segments. The mobile voice segment, traditionally the greatest revenue generator in the Puerto Rican telecom market, will maintain its status as the top revenue generator over the forecast period. It will, however, lose ground to other revenue lines such as mobile data, whose participation in the revenue pie will almost double from 15.12% in 2011 to 29.04% in 2016. Revenues from the pay-TV segment will exhibit more moderate growth rate over the forecast period (4.1% CAGR) as subscribers, affected by the challenging economic conditions, downsize the value of their service packages to more basic bundles and more affordable prepaid offerings.
