Handset Forecasts
We are the only company that provides handset forecasts for 18 markets in Latin America. The goal of the Handset Forecasts is to provide customers with an accurate picture of demand for mobile handsets in the region. The forecasts provide overall market sizing (units only), technology trends, replacement trends and an assessment of the impact of refurbished handsets in the market.
We have developed a bottom-up model based on subscriber demand rather than unit shipments. Our models are built based on expected demand for new services (subscriber growth), expected growth pattern of each operator (which translates into demand by technology), as well as expected migration to new and next generation technologies.
We help handset manufacturers determine the size of the market for terminal equipment in the region. The forecasts segment the opportunity into new handset sales and replacement handset sales, which enables vendors to come up with an appropriate mix of handsets to sell into each country.
